• evangelisation of imec’s artificial intelligence proficiency at conferences, seminars and other events to guarantee that imec is recognized as an AI leader.

Ervaring

I am a dynamic and committed professional with a proven track record of 25 years of experience in Artificial Intelligence. During my career, I have been active in leading director roles in Belgian companies as well as American corporates such as Microsoft, IBM, SAP and SAS. I describe myself as an achiever and decision maker with analytical skills, supported with a lot of common sense, organisational talent and proven management skills. My experience in defining the strategy needed for the operationalisation of AI within companies has been the driver for my recent appointments in different boards. I am recognised for my accountability and responsibility in the evangelisation of the business value and the ethics of AI, a strongly needed focus for engineers.
Knowledge transfer is one of my personal energy drivers. I am a guest lecturer at 3 European Business Schools. You can find different of my AI public speaking efforts mentioned here: www.gmdeketelaere.com. In 2018, I was nominated ICT Women of the Year by Trends in Belgium. The Belgian Federal Government (Kabinet De Croo) appointed me in 2019 as one of their 25 AI experts (https://www.ai4belgium.be/).
During my free time, I like being a female role model in private and public STEM initiatives in Belgium. In 2020, I wrote my first book: “Mens versus Machine”, which is now available in French and English.
