Relevante onderzoeken
De voorbije jaren is het meer en meer duidelijk geworden dat het immuun systeem een belangrijke rol speelt in de ontwikkeling en progressie van kanker. Daarom is de onderzoeksfilosofie van dit onderzoeksteam om gericht onderzoek te voeren naar de immuun biologie van kanker patiënten tijdens hun diagnose en behandeling (immuun profiel). De volgende stap is de ontwikkeling van concretere en gecombineerde immunotherapieën in preklinische modellen, op basis van de achterhaalde informatie uit de patiënten gegevens. De initiële focus in dit labo was eierstokkanker, maar ondertussen hebben we onze onderzoek uitgebreid naar drie kanker types: eierstokkanker, glioblastoma en baarmoeder sarcomen.
